Ecclesiastes 4:6 (NLT):“Better to have one handful with quietness than two handfuls with hard work and chasing the wind.”
I don’t know about you, but I’ve definitely felt the pressure to make dinner feel Pinterest-worthy every single night. And yet this verse reminds us: it’s better to have less with peace than more with stress.
Meal times don’t need to be elaborate. Sometimes the most worshipful choice we can make is to simplify. By giving ourselves permission to repeat simple, nourishing meals, we free up more time and energy to focus on what matters most — God, family, and rest.
Here are five go-to meals you can keep on repeat when life feels full:
1. Sheet Pan Chicken & Veggies
Chop chicken breast, broccoli, bell peppers, and sweet potatoes.
Toss in olive oil and your favorite seasoning.
Roast at 400° for 25 minutes.
Boom. One pan, easy cleanup.✨ Pro tip: Make extra for tomorrow’s lunch!
2. Greek Yogurt Parfait Bowl
Use plain or vanilla Greek yogurt.
Add berries, granola, chia seeds, and a drizzle of honey.
High protein, no stove required, ready in five minutes. Perfect for breakfast, snack, or even a light dinner on a busy night.
3. Taco Bowl Night

Brown ground turkey or beef with taco seasoning.
Serve over rice or lettuce.
Add black beans, salsa, avocado, and cheese.
✨ Bonus: Everyone builds their own bowl — no complaints from picky eaters!
4. Egg Scramble + Toast
Scramble 2 eggs with spinach or leftover veggies.
Serve with whole-grain toast and fruit.
Breakfast for dinner, done in 10 minutes. Sometimes the simplest meals are the most satisfying.
5. Slow Cooker Chicken Salsa
Place 2–3 chicken breasts in the slow cooker.
Add 1 jar of salsa + taco seasoning.
Cook on low for 6–8 hours, then shred.
Serve in tacos, bowls, or over salad. This is my “set it and forget it” lifesaver for crazy days.
Sometimes taking the stress of planning a meal off your mind can open it up to more important things! Keep it simple, repeat it often, and let it free up your energy for what matters most.
