I had to get out of my own way.

How does one actually go from binge-drinking, chain smoking, puffing on the occasional joint and using men like an old hand bag to viciously proclaiming Jesus and His love for all people? Seems ridiculous and unless you're saved you really can't understand the freedom in His grace. But my friend, ya better get your bible out and read for yourself because the world is in chaos but there have peace in Jesus. Do you have it?
It's not enough to be a Christian, pray, go to church and read the bible. We have to set a higher standard. We have to love those it's hard to like. We have to love when no one is watching. We have to live as Jesus lived, as hard as it is sometimes...ok, well, most times.
You will never break free from the fear of judgement if you don't get your bible out and read books by people who are living big. You will always be looking over your shoulder for those talking shit... and lemme fill ya in on a lil secret, someone is ALWAYS talking shit. Let it go. You will rarely change someone's opinion of you good or bad. Do you want true freedom? Love them anyway.
I asked Jesus back in to my life over four years ago and it hasn't come without judgement. And I get it. It makes no sense to an unsaved person and that's ok. Our journey is our journey. I let go of the opinions of others and most importantly myself this year, it was the most freeing experience of my life. I am my own worst critic, trust me.
When I first launched my business I was so excited I shouted from the rooftops, I was new and excited and ready for adventure! Then I had a brief period of time where I was trying to be what I thought social media wanted me to be... I don't even know how it started, but once I realized it I had to refocus on how to get back to God and His vision for my life. I still struggle with this on occasion and I can always tell when it happens, weird I know. But if you have Jesus in your heart, the Holy Spirit lives in you and that's the angel on your shoulder leading you to the good things in life. Have you experienced this? It's pretty cool actually.
How can you set yourself to a higher standard this week? What steps can you take today that'll get you closer to God. For me I want to refocus on my nutrition and stay on track with my new work program I started this week. My goal is to increase my income by 20% by the end of March and creating a solid, organized plan is how I'll get there.
Set a goal, make a plan, write it down. What is your life's mission? What do you want to accomplish this week, month, even today? What can you do in the next 24 hours to take serious steps to live the life you want to live. Only YOU can decide. Do you need to get over yourself? It's ok if so, we all go through those times, it's the strong who will admit it and move forward towards their dreams.
My buddy JC says, 'Either you convince yourself you can or you convince yourself you can't, either way, you're right.'
