"Stress is a CHOICE"

Wow, what does that do to your ego? #CRUSHEDIT. Happiness is a choice, exercise, food prepping, resting, putting your phone down, road rage, gossip, work ethic, clean eating, education, integrity...the list goes on, all these things we get to choose. You can use any excuse you have, it's fine, we all do it. But if you reeeeeeally want to grow and be the human God created you to be, you need to get over your ego and CHOOSE CHANGE.
I don't tell you this because I have my shit figured out. I tell you this because I have to call myself out on my own bullshit at LEAST once a day. But the more I practice, the quicker I recognize it and I can more easily, talk myself out of the excuses and do the damn thing.
Literally 90 minutes ago, my man came home from work. I begged him to go to the doctor, he sleeps like a snoring maniac on crack, to get checked for sleep apnea. He had to pay stupid money for a stupid machine to do a sleep study...night one did not go well. So I met him when he got home (the benefits of living next door) to give him a big ole' thank you for trying hug and he said to come in, so we laid on the couch to nap. I am still catching up sleep from the weekend so I laid down with him knowing I still had a list of things I wanted to do today for my business. My conviction is SO strong to put light in dark places right now with all the shit going on in our world, I got up from my sweet snuggly love and came back home to work... I choose our future. I would LOVE to bring him home from his day job, he gets up at 4 am and drives 30 minutes, busts his ass all day, then drives another 30 minutes home. It's hard physical labor and while he loves it, I know he'd also love us to travel when and where we want, when we want. #lifegoals So I choose work when I'd rather cuddle up to him and sleep.
Fortunately for me I absolutely LOVE what I do. I love getting to meet new people from all over the world. I am obsessed with helping women find the love and healing through faith that I have. Not everyone has the luxury of loving what they do today, but we ALL can CHOOSE to put the work in to build the life we want to. It takes work and effort and organization and focus, which isn't always easy, especially for those busy working moms who run households or are raising toddlers at home, but it's possible.
We can choose to stress over the things in life we don't like or we can choose to take steps to change them. The key is realizing that most things won't happen overnight. But with consistency and taking those small steps every day we can do big things. Don't let stress eat you alive, sit down, without your phone and breathe. Close your eyes and inhale through your nose for 4 counts, hold for 4 counts, exhale through your mouth for 4, then hold for 4. Repeat. Don't ignore the thoughts that come, simply acknowledge them and get back to your breathing.
We're going to be starting a meditation challenge in October and I highly encourage you to find something that works for you. Life is short and God is faithful, but you have to STOP thinking you can do everything yourself, that you can control everything and just LET SHIT GO! The more I tried to control my life, the more out of control it got. And even still today, when I get there, I have to sit calmly, where ever I am and ask God to take it. I am DONE stressing myself out about crap I can't control. You should be too. Put it down, give it up, In Jesus' name.
"In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world." John 16:33.
