Time for a Habit Audit

1 Corinthians 10:23 (NLT): “You say, ‘I am allowed to do anything’—but not everything is good for you. You say, ‘I am allowed to do anything’—but not everything is beneficial.”
When it comes to health, not all habits are created equal. Some give life, others drain it, and some just need a little tweaking. The good news? You don’t need more rules — you need more grace, clarity, and peace.
A practical way to reset is to do a habit audit.
Grab a sheet of paper and make three columns: KEEP | TOSS | CHANGE.

1. KEEP
These are habits that give you life. They feel aligned, sustainable, and peaceful.
Examples might include:
Drinking water first thing in the morning
Walking and praying at lunch
Reading a devotional while you eat breakfast
Prepping veggies on Sunday nights
These habits don’t just check a “health box.” They support your body, mind, and spirit.
2. TOSS
These are habits that are driven by guilt, unrealistic standards, or that simply aren’t working.
Examples might include:
Weighing yourself daily and spiraling emotionally
Tracking every bite of food and obsessing
Following extreme diets or workout plans that leave you exhausted
Ask yourself: Is this habit producing fruit — or frustration? If it’s robbing you of peace, it may be time to toss it.
3. CHANGE
These are habits that have potential but need a gentle tweak to become sustainable.
Examples might include:
Meal prep feeling overwhelming → simplify it to prepping just one lunch or snack.
A workout routine that’s too intense → shift to stretching, walking, or gentle strength this week.
Change doesn’t have to be all-or-nothing. Small tweaks can bring big freedom.
A Prayer for Your Journey
“Lord, I know You see me. Thank You for showing me the areas I need to reset and declutter. Give me the strength to trust Your plan and lean into walking with You instead of my unhealthy habits. I need You, Father. Thank You for leading and guiding this area of my journey. Amen.”
Do your own habit audit this week. Write down 3–5 health habits and place each one in Keep, Toss, or Change. (And if you’re in the Facebook Group, share a photo of your habit audit and tag me — I love hearing how these tools are helping you grow with God!)
